Visit to old mines with connection to natural caves

The tour of part of the old mines accompanied by our guide, will consist approximately of between 1,5 a 2,5 hours depending on what is proposed, with several stops in the surroundings for explanations of mining archeology and the existing speleothems and mineralizations.

The route is located in the surroundings of Tagle and Ubiarco, visiting the beaches of el sable in Tagle and the beach of santa justa in Ubiarco, with its famous hermitage and the tower of San Telmo, in the municipality of Santillana del Mar, Cantabria.

HOLY TORIBIUS OF LIEBANA, EL MIRADOR DE SAN MIGUEL AND VISIT TO FUENTE DÉ WITH CABLE CAR INCLUDED

Visit to Santo Toribio de Liébana with a stop at the San Miguel viewpoint, followed by a trip to Fuente Dé to use the cable car. On the way back, We will make a stop in Potes to eat in a typical restaurant. The day can conclude with an optional visit to the La Hermida Spa, to the town of Bejes, or to Unquera to try traditional ties.

Walking tour through the centenary oak and beech forest of Mount Corona

The excursion includes a walk through the ancient oak and beech forest of Monte Corona, followed by a visit to Barcena Mayor with typical food from the area included. On the way back, The Fuentona de Ruente will be visited and will end at the Cantabria Nature Museum in Carrejo

Santillana del Mar, San Vicente de la Barquera and Berellin beach

The excursion includes visits to Santillana del Mar, San Vicente de la Barquera, and a stop to eat. We will also visit Berellín or Barnejo beach., the estuary of Tina Mayor and Menor, and during the day visits to the Jesús Otero museum will be included, the collegiate church of Santa Juliana, the torture museum, and a tour of the old town of Santillana del Mar.

BIKE RIDE WITH TOUR OF THE OLD RAILWAY AND VISIT OF A NATURAL CAVE

The excursion takes place on a simple circular route, The route consists of approximately 10 kms, Round trip with several stops in the surroundings for explanations of the geomorphology of the area and visit to a natural cave of incomparable beauty.

The approximate total duration is 3-4 hours, taking into account that they are conventional bicycles, although without difficulty in the route because they are areas with practically zero slopes.

Mycological walks around Udías and a tour through the interior of the forests

In this project we are going to develop and describe the aspects that we have called, “Visits to the most characteristic habitats of Cantabria in the closest municipalities of Udías, as they are: Udías, salt head, (Sequoia Forest), Valdáliga and Ruente, etc..

The fundamental objective is to learn to classify the most characteristic mushrooms of the existing habitats in these Municipalities and also teach the most common techniques to know how to orient yourself in the field..

Mineral and rock workshop with visit to mining archeology in cave

Visit to a historic mine, with open pit and underground mineral exploitation, exploring its original state with remains of mining archeology, with outcrops of the mineral they exploited and exploitation methods and utensils, besides, A workshop will be held on the best-known minerals and rocks in the Earth's crust and around the Udías mines..


The tour of the mine consists of approximately 600 metros, with an estimated duration of 2 hours, including the tour and workshop 45 minutes.

EXCURSION TO ASTURIAS, GULPIYURI BEACH, PRIA AND COVADONGA FLAME BUFFONS

As part of this route, which passes through various places in eastern Asturias, we will visit the emblematic Gulpiyuri beach., what is a natural monument.

Later we will go to Llames de Pría to visit the Bufones, and finally we will go to Covadonga to see the Santina cave and the imposing Basilica of Covadonga.

WALK THROUGH THE CENTENARY SEQUOIA FOREST, VISIT TO A HONEY PRODUCER AND THE NATURE MUSEUM

In the morning we will visit the Cabezón de la Sal Sequoia forest, which has different routes and our guide will take you through the most representative ones..

Next, The transfer will be made to the weaver beekeeping area to visit their facilities to see a demonstration of how honey and its derivatives are worked., with a tasting of it.

Later we will go to eat and after lunch in the agreed area the excursion will take place to visit the Cantabria Nature Museum..

Our base

All excursions will begin at our base in the town of Pumalverde, (Udías, Cantabria), in front of the church, where we will make a small presentation of each of the excursions and from where we will travel to all the activities.

The adventure we propose is simple!

What do you need to bring?

To practice cave and mine activities you will only need comfortable clothing that allows you freedom of movement and that adapts to the environment we are going to enter and we will provide you with all the necessary equipment or if you prefer you can bring your own equipment.

If you do the excursion by bicycle we will provide you with the bicycle and helmet.

For the rest of the walking excursions you will only have to bring comfortable clothing and walking or mountain boots.
